These images show a sheep tick removed from our own dog on the 2nd October 2007 in South Oxfordshire using the Trix tick remover.
The image on the right clearly shows the fibre loop gripping the mouth parts of the tick. The small amount of fur caught in the loop did not cause any pain to the dog, or stop the remover from functioning.
The image below illustrates the small size of the tick compared to a medium point biro. The body of the tick measured approximately 1mm in length.
In the final magnified image the tick appears to be intact and was very alive!
